Medical Solutions has been in operation since 1995 and provides complete practice management services. Office setup, practice management, training, and medical billing services for a wide range of specialties are standard services. Practice management startups and office setups have been performed for over 15 physicians or physician groups with specialties ranging from ambulance services to cardiology. These startups included complete office setup, billing, staffing, and office management for up to 1 year after startup

Medical Solutions is currently providing complete billing services for 14 clients and partial services for several other clients. These clients have specialties including ophthalmic/plastic surgery, pain management, infectious disease, neurology, neurosurgery, rheumatology, and psychiatry. Other specialties for which we have billing expertise include oncology, general surgery, cardiac surgery, urology, sports medicine, and orthopedics. We currently have clients in Idaho Falls, Sun Valley, Pocatello, and West Yellowstone, Montana.

Lois Akers is the president and chief operating officer for Medical Solutions. She has over 20 years experience in medical billing and office management. She has a B.S. degree in corporate training and is currently completing her M.S. degree in corporate training. She has taught ICD-9 and CPT coding at the Eastern Idaho Technical College and specific billing courses for local area hospitals. She has been on the board of directors and is the current state president-elect for the Idaho Section of the American Society of Training and Development. She is also currently on the state Medicare Physicians Education Training (PET) team, which provides education and training on Medicare guidelines.

Medical Solutions currently has 3 full time staff and 3 contract labor staff. Billing functions are performed using MARS medical billing package. This system has a direct interface with the Internet and can be accessed through any Internet service provider. This capability provides direct access to client accounts at any time or continuously during office hours and from any location where Internet services are available.
